Lulzbot Mini Enclosure by Printed Solid enhancements

These custom parts are upgrades for the Lulzbot Mini Enclosure produced by Printed Solid, engineered to contain more heat within the printer's frame. This enhancement improves ABS print quality significantly by minimizing the risk of part splits and warping caused by excessive heat escape. The top left and right covers can be used as is to minimize the size of the opening around the filament feed. Alternatively, if you prefer a snap-together design, insert three short pieces of filament into the pre-drilled holes to facilitate easy removal for spool switching. The right side cover and latch are glued together to create a finished part that snaps into place under the filament hold bracket, effectively sealing most of the hole. This design allows diagonal printing on the mini print bed. The right side cover hold bracket serves as a more elegant solution than the nut and washer provided in the kit for securing the lower section of the left and right side enclosures. Four such brackets are required, two per side. With the enclosure, temperatures inside the box reach around 90 degrees F, effectively eliminating all ABS split and warp issues. The use of ABS for these parts enables acetone-based bonding for a strong and durable assembly. A flexible latch that requires some flexing to engage also benefits from this material choice. Choose your preferred color scheme, as an enclosure can significantly enhance ABS printing performance. However, other materials like PLA may not require such measures. These custom designs were created using Autodesk Fusion 360 CAD software.
