Lulbot Mini 54mm Spool Adapter

The filament spools I utilize from Rigid.Ink feature a 56mm central bore. The spool holder arm on the mini printer exhibits a somewhat jerky motion due to its square shaft design. To address this issue, I created a sliding adapter that mounts directly onto the original arm, allowing it to work seamlessly with the 56mm filament spools, eliminating the jerking altogether. This design is engineered to operate without bearings and achieves remarkably low friction levels thanks to the minimal contact areas involved. The resulting mechanism should be compatible with any spool boasting an internal bore diameter of 54mm or greater.
