Swappable thermal wing for the Lukisegler rc-glider

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/UqjJgUcAXaQ"></oembed>

This wing is designed for the Lukisegler rc-glider (https://www.printables.com/de/model/76098-lukisegler-electric-rc-glider) to give it better thermal gliding properties.

You can swap it with the already existing wing or print out the fuselage (link above) and use this wing instead of the original one.

With the new wing the whole model has the following technical data:

Span: approx. 2650 mm

Body length: approx. 1000 mm

Take-off weight (LW-PLA): approx. 900 g

Take-off weight (PLA / PETG): approx. 1500 g

Drive: brushless motor

Propeller : folding propeller

Battery: 3S-4S Lipo 1000-1300 mAh

Controls: elevation / rudder / aileron / motor

Center of gravity: 50-55 mm behind the profile nose

Rudder deflections: 20-25 °

I recommend to print the wing in LW-PLA (lightweight PLA) to save a maximum of weight!

The center of the wing and some other parts must be printed in normal PLA or PETG for stability reasons.

The construction of the parts is designed for a minimizing the amount of retracts necessary when printing. This minimizes stringing especially when using PETG or LW-PLA.

The individual parts should also be printed individually. Otherwise the stringing will be too strong and the post-processing of the parts will be too time-consuming.

Modifiers are used in the print files! These are essential for the stability and for the structure of the individual parts! The surfaces for connecting the individual parts are made by using modifiers .

The complete building-instructions for the fuselage can be downloaded from my website:
https://c-arts-modelle.de/carts_modelle_web/fluggeraete/carts_lukisegler/carts_lukisegler.html
(It is a german website, but the translator in Chrome or Chromium will do quite a good job!)

The essential building techniques for the new wing are the same.

This is a overwiew of the parts:

I have also added a part list where you can see the used printing materials.

Additional parts for the construction

Carbon rods or fiberglass rods as well as various adhesives are required for the construction.

Adhesives

Superglue, low viscosity

Medium-viscosity superglue

5-minute epoxy resin

Carbon rods

Carbon rod 2 mm: 4 pieces (1150 mm length)

Carbon rod 2 mm: 4 pieces (950 mm length)

Carbon rod 2 mm: 4 pieces (100 mm length)

Carbon rod 10mm: 2 pieces (200 mm length)

Carbon rod 3 mm: 2 pieces (80mm length)

Screws

Wood screws 2x10 mm (d x h): 8 pieces

Electronics

Servos

Micro servos: 2 pieces (maximum dimensions (L x W x H) 23.5 x 10 x 24 mm)

I use high quality servos with metal gears. These can cope with even greater loads (e.g. in the event of undesired contact with the ground) without damage. The additional costs for this are worthwhile.

How I set up Prusaslicer for my printer:

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/wvLSVYyUMD8"></oembed>

Build videos:

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/GG-5zM8Rx4g"></oembed>

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/fCobiSXu_Mc"></oembed>

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/wtqrD6Mi77Q"></oembed>

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/uBMlVQR9nPw"></oembed>

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/YO1ByYrlepU"></oembed>

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/B9K1hrAQ5LA"></oembed>
