Luke Skywalkers Lightsaber (+Important Announcement!)

Hey everyone this is a fairly old model of Luke Skywalkers Lightsaber from Star Wars, I am not uploading this for the sake of sharing a model but instead to address some things that have been needed to be addressed for a while. I know this is unusual and unlike me but it needs to be done. Thingiverse is a husk of what it once was. I have stopped using this platform due to the absolute lack of care and effort put into it by the people who run it. For those of you who don't know, Thingiverse has been broken for over 3 years now, creators analytics don't work, our models are stolen and they do nothing and the site has been neglected far beyond what is considered acceptable. Because of this I have given up on this site, I haven't posted in well over a year and don't plan on posting until Thingiverse changes or until I find an alternative site. Another topic I would like to address is model theft, honestly it has happened to me so often I've lost track, nothing hurts more than having the models you put days of effort into stolen, rebranded and then sold off to unsuspecting people by idiots who claim it as their own, this has always been a problem of mine since starting to upload models here for free in 2017. What makes this even more difficult is that even though all my models are posted under the "Creative Commons - Attribution - Non-Commercial - No Derivatives" license, Thingiverse still refuses to help me when these models are stolen and even reuploaded on this site (to this day many are still up). I understand that they can only do so much when models are posted on other sites but when its on their very own platform there is no excuse. Id also like to say that unless stated in my official Damaskprops account (the one this model is posted under) I have NO OTHER ACCOUNTS! Recently it was brought to my attention that some people have been reuploading my models and claiming to be the "One and only Damask Props", THIS IS NOT TRUE and if need be I have more than enough evidence to prove this, unfortunately sites like Thingiverse and others wont bother acknowledging this and refuse to stop these people. If any of you can help me out with this please message me here on Thingiverse or at my email damaskprops@gmail.com At the end of the day I uploaded my models because I wanted to give back to the community. Years ago when I saw Iron Man for the first time in theatres I wanted to make something from that movie but didn't know how. There was barely any models available and even fewer that were accurate and free. I wanted to set out and change that and Id like to think that I accomplished that. Thank you everyone for everything, I appreciate all of you amazing people who've printed, shared and made dreams come true with my models, thank you for everything. Hopefully one day this will all get resolved and I can continue to share my models (don't worry, I never stopped modelling, I just stopped uploading)
