Luke Skywalker Lightsaber - Modelled from The Mandalorian

thingiverse

This lightsaber was modelled from the custom stunt and hero lightsaber from the Mandalorian finale. This was the first time the idolised 'Luke Skywalker Hero' saber appears in full on screen. The saber is sized to 278mm from hilt to emitter top, the same as the ROTJ "cave build" saber and similar to the V2 and V3. It has a unique control box which shares a lineage to the famous Elstree Props replica. Proportions and details were modelled from screenshots from the Mandalorian, as shown in the pictures. This was modelled in Blender 2.9. All parts will need to be superglued together but the tolerances are such that things should fit tightly and will be very solid when assembled. The pommel / body part of the saber can be rotated and glued to be show accurate, or any way you want. A print direction guide is provided in the images above, for optimum detail on each part. Take note of seams and orientations, so your final model puts them on the bottom of the saber. All parts can print with just a skirt but the card holder may need a brim or raft if you have issues with lifting / adhesion. Print the tri-ring at 0.12mm for more detail, but 0.2mm is great for the rest of the parts. I printed this with PLA+ and also Polymaker Polyterra on a stock Ender 3 v2 without issues. I printed all the parts at once except for the tri-ring and card holder. I then printed the tri-ring alone at 0.12mm and then the card holder alone at 0.2mm with a raft.
