Updated 12/12/2018 The Shellcreeper's palette inspired the Luigi Cap color to clearly differentiate Mario from Luigi. To achieve this, designers made the cap green with a prominent green "L" emblem, although it was white in Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels.
