Recent excursions to Achmore area, Isle of Lewis have yielded a treasure trove of information - with plenty more to uncover during future visits.\nThe partially collapsed cairn perches atop Oidreabhal, situated alongside a massive boulder boasting a surface depression that may have served as an ancient altar for offerings to the unknown realm. It's probable that this location was a hub for the inhabitants of numerous nearby bothain-airighe (at least 12 in total) to socialize and celebrate communal events.\nThe notch on the stone, the cairn, and Oidreabhal's visible summit all converge along an East-West axis.
