Luer lock
thingiverse
**update Dec 14, 2015** Luer lock functionality now attainable through printing... still requires fine-tuning, however. Initial results show opening too small, necessitating either drill or hot needle intervention for effective insertion. Design parameters suggest slight improvement, but the mechanism fails to achieve full luer-lock performance, allowing needle rotation when attempted to secure. Despite hole enlargement, issues persist - fluid leakage evident upon initial testing and needle spin observed during engagement attempts. Integration of a luer lock in models designed for fluid management appears essential. FFF printer-specific concerns necessitate recalibration, particularly scaling optimization to alleviate excessively tight tolerances. Scaling down the center element and scaling up the outer ring may help rectify these issues. For enhanced print quality and smoother mechanism function, it is advisable to employ a high-resolution printer such as an SLA model for future refinements.
