Lucretia
myminifactory
Lucretia (/lʊˈkriːʃə/) was a pivotal figure in the transition of Roman government from the Roman Kingdom to the Roman Republic. Her role was instrumental in shaping this significant shift, according to accounts from renowned historians Livy (Livius) and Dionysius of Halicarnassus who lived during the reign of Emperor Caesar Augustus (23 September 63 BC – 19 August 14 AD). Despite a lack of contemporary sources, these historians agreed that Lucretia existed and that her tragic fate after being brutally raped by an Etruscan king's son sparked a fierce anti-monarchist rebellion that ultimately led to the overthrow of the monarchy.
