Lucky Pig Bobble

Lucky Pig Bobble

thingiverse

A miniature model of a pig's head, showcased on Thingiverse at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:23029, Lucky Pig, demonstrates innovative use of plastic technology. The head is printed with PLA, a highly rigid and sensitive spring material, which exhibits unique properties. A 3D spiral pattern inspired by Fermat's equation can be seen in the spring design; see http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1771653 for further reference. Printer settings for optimal printing results include: - Printer Brand: MakerBot - Printer Model: MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation) - Use Rafts: Yes - Use Supports: Yes - Resolution: 0.3 mm Important notes regarding the spring's construction: The spring works effectively, but building it without support is challenging. To minimize excess support, set a high support angle of approximately 82 or 83 degrees. Once printed, use needle nose pliers to remove most of the support material, then utilize tweezers for precise clean-up. To customize the design, follow these steps: - Modify lucky_pig_small.stl to create your own head model. - Pass the modified stl file through Lucky_pig_head.scad, which will extract and output lucky_pig_head.stl. - Feed lucky_pig_head.stl into Lucky_pig_bobble.scad to generate the bobble design. Instructions for this process are embedded within the openSCAD code.
