Robert Barnby is a contemporary furniture designer operating out of a workshop nestled near the charming town of Hay-on-Wye, set against the majestic backdrop of The Black Mountains. Barnby Design was founded in 2012 by Robert, a talented alumnus of Nottingham Trent University, who aimed to craft an assortment of innovative furniture pieces offering a distinctive take on the timeless mid-century style. A significant portion of his work is heavily influenced by the aesthetic sensibilities of Scandinavian and Japanese design. Clean lines, refined details, and minimal ornamentation are signature characteristics of Robert's style, consistently present in each piece he creates. In combining two natural materials, a stunning Portuguese Calacatta marble was carefully paired with the understated elegance of white oiled oak framing to produce The Lucas Table.
