Luba - Automatic Garage Door Switch Mount
thingiverse
This is a simple mount for a pressure switch to open and close the door on my Luba mower garage. It fits over the right-side charging station wheel block. The switch is mounted to the plate at the top of the mount and is activated by the Luba's left rear wheel. The parts needed for this project are:Baomain 2PCS Z-15GS-B3 General Purpose Basic Switch, Slim Spring Plunger, Screw Terminal, 0.5mm Contact Gap, 15A Rated CurrentForward and Reverse Relay Module for Motor/Linear Actuator, Reversing Relay Module (DC 24V)Bulipu, Mini Linear Motion Actuators Actuator Stroke 12V24V 50mm 2 In 100N High Speed 45mmsNote: The aluminum mounts for the actuator were not included with the above link (I had them already) so you'll need those as well!24V power is tapped off of the Luba's charging station. This requires temporary removal of a couple of the station's panels which are secured with about a dozen hex screws (in-front and underside). I just soldered a couple of 18-gauge wires to the existing nodes(see pic). I drilled a couple of holes in the case to route the new wires to the switch and backfilled the holes with silicon to keep everything dry inside. Note that the charging posts are spring loaded so ensure they're properly installed and the small internal panel also has a rubber seal so make sure it's in-place when re-assembling. Use the righthand version on the wiring diagram to hook everything up.Note: The location for the actuator mount is critical for proper operation. In my case the door hinged at the very top and the actuator pin was 2 inches down from the hinge point. I recommend you use this calculator to ensure this actuator will work in your setup and adjust accordingly. If you need to use a different stoke actuator just ensure it's a high speed version as Luba is not going to wait for the door to open and many of the actuators are quite slow. (LOL, don't ask me how I know this!). You may want to have a test door panel as it took me a couple times adjusting the mount position to get it right (YMMV)....https://www.progressiveautomations.com/blogs/how-to/using-our-calculator-tool-to-select-linear-actuators
