LSE Nema 17 stepper motor mounting plate for extrusion rail
thingiverse
This product is simple but very effective. You now can move your extruder away from your X rail and move it onto the top rail of your 3D printer. I done it to our Ender 3 printer and I replaced my default PTFE tube with a longer boden tube for more flexibility especially since all our printers are in an enclosure. So this way the access to the extruder is granted a lot better and much easier to service since now you can access it all from above and no longer have to find a way to access it. Also because of it there is 400gramm less weight now pushing onto your Z axes lead screw when you have an Ender 3 or similar 3D printer. Attached is also the source file which I had used freeCAD for creating this small item. It's thickness is 2mm if and works well with short M3 screws. Once you increase the Z value over 4mm you will need longer screws. NEMA 17 mount screws : M3 6mm 2020 rail screws : M5 8mm So if you decided to mount your filament holder above your printer now you can and have it directly fed to the extruder without having to print any other parts out.
