LRP Shark 1/18 / Anderson MB4 / FTX Blaze Main gears
thingiverse
So I've been working on creating new main gears for the LRP Shark 18. The ones with straight-cut teeth are Mod0.5, just like the original, and they work perfectly with the standard metal pinion gear. On the other hand, the helical gears have a wider design (7mm) and will require some minor modifications to fit properly. However, these helical gears hold up extremely well and come with an upgraded Mod0.7 designation (bigger teeth for easier printing and increased durability). The only modification you'll need to make is to file off the two small ridges on the chassis plate where the original sprocket was attached. I found it best to use a Dremel cutting blade and carefully file them down with that tool, as shown in the accompanying pictures. During initial testing, there was some minor rubbing noticed, but after just 10 seconds of full-throttle action, the issue disappeared completely.
