Everyone playing with small computers like Arduinos knows that a 5V power input is necessary for their device to function properly. Using a higher voltage means requiring a voltage regulator, such as a 7805, but this generates heat and consumes power in the process. Using 7.2 volts is the optimal choice because when combined with a voltage regulator like the 7805, it provides exactly 5V output with minimal heat generation. The Canon LP-E6 battery is the world's best-selling battery and is extremely affordable to purchase, especially if you buy an unbranded version. This 7.2-volt battery requires only a battery plate, such as this one, to function properly. Print Settings Printer: Da Vinci 1.0 Pro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 25% Notes: Since the plate and spacers are printed separately, no supports are needed. Post-Printing After printing, you must create the contacts for the battery. The holes are already present, so you only need to place some sheet metal contact blades in the holes and connect your wires to them. Some sanding may be necessary, depending on the quality of your printer. How I Designed This I used 123D design to create this part. The RAW files are available upon request.
