LowRider2 XZ Joint
thingiverse
This is a very rigid XZ joint for LowRider 2 (25mm). You will need the following parts for assembly: x8 M4 60mm socket head cap screws x8 M4 Locknuts x8 M3 Rivets x4 (at least) M3 10mm flat head screws The rivets shall be inserted using a soldering iron, but be careful not to overheat. I will design belt tensioners and/or cable tray mount for these mounts. The Rigidity Frame is to be screwed to the corresponding slot in the main body. It allows to avoid any supports while printing. Hope you like the design, but .f3d file is attached as usual, so any enhancements are welcome. Looking forward to your makes and comments! UPDATE #1: The "Y Bottom" part needs to be updated as well due to a slight offset in original Z rails. STL and source files included. UPDATE #2: PLEASE NOTE that the belt will be a bit bent downwards to the zip-tie mounts and I'm currently looking into opportunities to straighten it with minimum effort and minimum reprint. UPDATE #3: The side parts (Left & Right Clamps) have been modified. 4 inserts less, as the mounting points turned out to be not as useful as they seemed. The cable tray (e.g. aluminium profile), if needed, can be easily mounted with double-sided tape right on the flat top surface. The belt mount has also been simplified and raised so the belt should now fit right on the unthreaded part of the long bolt in the cut-out corner and be much straighter. NB, mine is 6mm wide, if you use a wider belt, the cutout should probably be deeper. The project files included, as usual. I will reverse-engineer the thing soon, so you will be able make your amendments much easier.
