This is a custom torch mount designed specifically for the LowRider v2 CNC by Allted, which can be found on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3026040. The torch carriage is engineered to accommodate a Hypertherm Powermax 45xp machine torch and features a tight friction fit that requires sanding until a precise match is achieved. No additional set screws or fasteners are required to secure the torch to the mount, allowing for smooth operation. To complete this project, you will need to acquire the following materials: - Eight LM8UU Linear Bearings - Four 8mm Smooth Polished Rods - One to two 8mm ID Torch Return Springs - Two M3 screws for limit switch mounting - One Roller Limit Switch When assembling the mount, it's recommended that you use epoxy to secure the smooth rod into the base plate, ensuring a snug and durable fit. The linear bearings are pressed into place, requiring a tight, precise fit. To accommodate these components, the 8mm rod holes in the base plate were drilled slightly larger than necessary. This design flaw will be addressed in future revisions to minimize the need for reworking printed parts.
