The Westland Scout, a cutting-edge light helicopter, was designed by Westland Helicopters with military superiority in mind. Built from the proven Saro P.531 platform, it excelled as a versatile land-based general-purpose helicopter, sharing a common heritage and numerous interchangeable components with its naval counterpart, the Westland Wasp. The primary user of this advanced aircraft was the British Army's Army Air Corps, which deployed it to various combat zones such as Northern Ireland and the Falklands War.
