The Grumman S-2 Tracker, initially known as S2F before 1962, was the inaugural single airframe to be specifically tailored for anti-submarine warfare (ASW) in the U.S. Navy fleet. Manufactured by Grumman, this aircraft boasted a conventional design with twin engines, high-wing configuration and tricycle undercarriage. Exported to various global navies, the Tracker was introduced in 1952 and served in the USN until mid-70s, with some aircraft continuing service in other air forces till the 21st century.
