To test my ability to swiftly convert a line drawing into a solid model, I extruded a shape along its path. The outcome exceeded my expectations, so I decided to share it. However, this print could benefit from a base or support for standing. Including a quarter in the image provides size context. Update: On July 9th, 2013, I fixed the STL file, resulting in thicker lines that improve printing quality. These star-shaped prints became popular at the 4th of July celebration; my friends and I wore them as necklaces. People frequently expressed interest in purchasing them. I also printed a multi-color version using red, white, and blue filaments, with swaps at 33% and 66%. When printing, I used 100% infill and a layer height of .15. Remarkably, the print detached from the bed in one piece.
