Lowcost Robot Chassis (beta)
youmagine
This design aims to reduce the number of components required for a 3D printed robot chassis. The total cost of all hardware for the chassis comes out to less than $10. You have the option to swap out the motors, batteries, and motor controller with any choice you prefer. The ultimate goal is to convert the final design into OpenScad format so that it becomes fully parametric. The gears on the rear wheels and motor were created using a customized version of Blender's gear generator tool. For those who want to generate their own gear ratios, here are the specs for the gear around the rear drive wheels: Number of teeth: 50 Pitch: 4mm Clearance: .5mm Width: 2.5mm Base: 4.2mm PA: 20 I'm not sharing the Blender script at this time because it's a bit of a hack, and in the future, I plan to convert the design to OpenScad anyway.
