This thing helps me save 10-15 minutes every time I need to install a low voltage outlet in drywall. It's a huge help since this is something I do all the time. Before the template, I would measure to the approximate top or bottom of the bracket, hold the bracket backwards on the wall, mark where I could with a sharpie, use a level to finish the rectangle and then go back with the drywall saw and cut the hole. Not only was this taking up too much time, it was also very nerve-wracking for me. With the template: 1. Measure the height of a nearby electrical outlet to the center screw, then mark where you want the new box to be horizontally (Use a stud finder to find an open cavity) and at that height. 2. Place the center nail of the template on that mark and tap it in place. 3. Use the built-in level to set the position and tap in the lower nail. 4. Mark the perimeter with a sharpie. 5. I recommend drilling 3/4in holes in two corners, though this is not at all necessary. 6. Use a drywall saw to complete the hole. 7. Insert the bracket. I'm also including the older .stl that has a "shelf" for using a standard level. The included level is easier, but requires an additional part.
