Low-res_Spiral bear (Shenton Park)
sketchfab
I created HDRI panoramic environment maps from real locations in Perth, installing a tangible interface with a 3D model where a perforated doll shape floats in Shenton Park, just near where I live. Viewers can zoom into the volume's interior to see the surrounding scenery. The self-made equipment and structure of our digital production process reveal how perceptions are constructed, while converting photographic images into halftone vector spirals represents divided brush marks found in Impressionism or Aboriginal art. This resonates with the repetitive tactility embedded in vision through experiential duration and bodily pulsation. I hope this online presentation mirrors the physical fluidity and inter-penetrability of oil paint used in my Patagraphy 2.0, allowing for a reciprocal experience between digital and tangible mediums.
