Mount your spool of filament firmly to the Prusa i2 printer. The spool spins freely on four smooth-rolling bearings, which keep it securely centered thanks to two sturdy tabs positioned evenly on either side. The clamping mechanism tightens down onto the two threaded rods at the top. What's more, the setup is adjustable to accommodate various spool sizes. To use this component successfully, make sure to attach it flat during the printing process and don't forget to configure the minimum layer time to anywhere between 15-20 seconds. If you're using any sort of support material in your prints, though, you can just use a slightly longer print time as required. The spool holder itself will be printing without much surface area left unused; all you really need to make sure of is having on hand some basic radial bearings – we recommend 20mm x 8mm - along with some suitable bolts, washers and nuts to ensure a strong fit overall
