Low Profile Spool Holder
thingiverse
Low profile spool holder designed for use with 2020 Misumi extrusion, similar in design to the compact Filament Spool Holder by Kossel, which inspired this version. Thank you Elliot for suggesting it! The small hub is sized perfectly for Taulman's mini spools, and its short length allows for snug fit within stepped spools from Ultimachine and Atomic Filament. Required hardware includes a 10mm OD bearing with a 5mm ID and a 4mm width. Additionally, a 20mm M5 screw is necessary for assembly. This design comes equipped with two hooks - one magnetic spring hook designed to be printed in magnetic filament with 5mm magnets, while the regular hook does not require such materials. To reposition the hooks, simply press on the sides of the hook, which should allow for easy manipulation. Although the magnetic version exists, there doesn't seem to be any real need to use it, as the non-magnetic option suffices in preventing spool unwinding on its own, based on this creator's experience with tested spools.
