Low Profile Microphone Stand

Low Profile Microphone Stand

# Explanation I bought a kinda-cheap ($40) microphone from Amazon Basics that came with a stand that was too tall for me. I wanted it to sit under my monitor but it ended up covering part of it so it had to go off the side, which was bad for background noise and the pickup pattern. # Design This design is intentionally low-profile to fit under your monitor. This uses a 5/8" threaded screw with 27 threads per inch, which should fit any standard microphone. It is less than an inch tall. One problem is that it is not isolated from the rest of my desk, but an easy way to solve that is by putting some adhesive felt pads on the bottom of the feet. These are the kind that are used on the bottoms of chairs to stop them from scratching hardwood. It's actually better than the factory isolation because this "air gap" transmits much less low frequency noise from typing on my keyboard and my desk moving. # Printing Print it standing upright. The angle is just steep enough that you shouldn't need any support structures. Bed adhesion is important since the three legs must line up until they meet in the middle.
