I bought a standard DRO Scale from banggood before realising it was going to be much too big to mount on the cross slide of my warco lathe. So I had a go at recreating the housing in a low profile design specifically setup to mount on my machine. This is something of a work in progress - the design has the cable coming up between the bedways and this can catch on the carriage, also near the chuck the bedways are joined so it can limit travel in that direction. This requires removal of all the guts from the original dro scale and maybe de-soldering/re-soldering the connecting wires to the PCB. this obvious voids your warranty and runs a high risk of destroying the device additionally in order to mount this, I had to drill and tap a hole into my cross slide. The parts are designed to be glued together, no room for fasteners. You will also need to custom turn the bolt that mounts the reader head to the carriage, I reused the mounting point for the follow steady. that part should be easy because you obviously own a lathe I made a youtube video of me making this which I'm assuming is how you found this thing, if not then you'll want to go find that video to understand better how these fit together.
