It also works as a substitute for 39mm and 40mm baseplates (they are essentially identical).\r\n\r\nThis is an extremely low-profile tripod base plate designed specifically for Sony Alpha 6000 (ILCE 6000) cameras.\r\n\r\nMirrorless cameras generally have a slimmer profile compared to DSLRs, which means standard baseplates often overpower the frame of my camera, causing significant annoyance when not using a tripod.\r\n\r\nThis custom baseplate features an offset mounting hole, allowing it to be shifted forward on the camera. The design closely follows the shape of the camera body, making the assembly more stable despite its compact size.\r\n\r\nI've left room for adding two 0.75mm (1/2in) neoprene pads between the camera and the plate, utilizing square holes.\r\n\r\nThe prototype was printed in Blue PLA, but the final product will likely be made from PETG or ABS for added durability.
