The way we utilize words such as swine, sow, and porker when referring to humans reveals how numerous people view pigs - as filthy and most importantly, inferior to humans. This appropriation of words extends beyond just pigs with terms like bitch and heifer, highlighting the complexity of this issue. With PIGment, I aim to explore this relationship by artistically "tagging" 3D models with some of these commonly used words. The font employed as well as the size and color are designed to be bold and almost in your face, evoking the aggression that some of these words can often convey. The use of a common tattoo aesthetic, words in a scripty cursive font, serves to personalize this branding, bringing a human quality to the pig and placing it on an equal footing with humans rather than as a lesser being.
