Low-Poly Pokemon Geodude

Low-Poly Pokemon Geodude

thingiverse

This is a model of the Pokémon Geodude, designed in low-poly style. Low-poly objects are crafted with a minimal number of polygons, resulting in a blocky or 8-bit feel. They can also be easier to 3D print, as complex objects with millions of polygons are harder to process. I created Geodude using Tinkercad. After the body was roughed out, I exported an STL file and imported it into Meshmixer where I reduced the number of polygons until it looked good. Then back in Tinkercad, I removed its left side, duplicated & flipped the right side and attached it to the left, achieving perfect bilateral symmetry. It prints with supports required. I found best results by rotating the model approximately 30 degrees backward, mainly so that the upper lip is perpendicular to the plate. Geodude is available for copying and editing on Tinkercad.com: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/cIu7vU9B91M-geodudelopoly UPDATE, DECEMBER 2019 I edited the file (Geodude_LoPoly 2.0.stl) so that it can print without support and sit on the ground without tipping over.
