low poly Laser Cut Moon
thingiverse
My aunt recently asked me to get a "star" from Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2221621), and after just a few days, she sent another message saying "Hey dear, but I also want a moon." How could I possibly say no? So, I ended up on this 3D project. To make it, you'll need the following materials: * 3mm plywood There are three files to download, two for the inside and one for the outside part. You'll have to print two of the outside parts because the design is only on one side. For the inside parts, I've numbered the connections to make mounting easier. For the outside parts, just take a look at the photos – it's straightforward. The trapezoids on the outside parts are different; I've labeled them as outer and inner. Although they differ by just a few millimeters, the connection points are the same distance apart to make assembly simpler. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I hope you like this project as much as my aunt does. I'd love to see some of these being made! I've added .ai and .dxf files for your convenience. If needed, I can export other formats from the Illustrator file – it should be no problem. For the base, use 10mm thick plywood.
