Low poly falcon heavy with detachable rocket body and capsule
thingiverse
This is a remix of the amazing low poly falcon heavy by DoctorWatson, where I've edited the .stl files so the exhaust, rocket body and capsule are separate objects, but have locating cylinders added to enable reassembly. I changed the exhaust slightly to remove overhangs that made it difficult to print. The exhaust is lit using these underwater lights from Amazon. Exhaust and body were scaled up 300% in Cura Lulzbot Edition and the rocket body was scaled up 310% to make it easier to attach and detach. There was some trimming of the holes with a dremel to get a perfect fit. The exhaust printed with two shells, zero percent infill, and no base using natural PLA from Polymaker at 195C hotend, 60C bed temperature. The rocket body and capsule printed with two shells, fifty percent infill, in white rPETg from Filamentive at 235C hotend, 60C bed temperature. UPDATE: User @threedom had some trouble printing the exhaust because of the inner surface of the additional balls I added to help with printing when he sliced it. I didn't have that problem slicing in Cura Lulzbot Edition, but other slicers might behave differently. Check your slicer before printing! UPDATE: After my daughter accidentally broke the joining attachment on the capsule twice, I recommend printing it sideways to avoid it snapping apart between layers.
