Low Poly Falcon Heavy Joined with Support Tower
thingiverse
I really loved the minimalist Falcon Heavy model, and its hollowed exhaust nozzle caught my eye. Next up, I'm eager to replicate the animated lighting effects I've seen on thingiverse, but that's a project for later. The initial design didn't quite sit right with me, so I merged the two halves of the rocket together instead. However, printing it proved to be a challenge, even with a brim to keep it stable. To overcome this hurdle, I designed a support tower to prevent the model from wobbling and ensure that the lift head function didn't cause any ooze that might knock over the rocket. Since I was adding extra plastic anyway, I decided to make the most of it by creating a structure that resembles one of the launch platform towers you see holding up the rocket before liftoff.
