Low Poly DireWolf with extra tail support

Low Poly DireWolf with extra tail support

thingiverse

I created this Low Poly DireWolf derived from NathanSquire67's original design found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:358837 for my son. However, it failed after two print attempts because the tail would not stay attached to the bed. When I used Cura with supports enabled, but without any extra support under the tail, the model lacked stability until it joined the main body of the design. I reimported the Low Poly DireWolf into Freecad and added minimal support under the tail, creating a functional print. For your own project, I printed this model in white ABS on a Prusa i2 using .5mm nozzle diameter and .125 layer thickness. Nozzle temperature was set at 230 degrees Celsius and bed temperature was kept at 94 degrees Celsius on kapton tape. Be very cautious when removing support material as the legs and base of the tail are delicate and prone to breakage.
