Low Poly Crystal Decoration/Lamp
prusaprinters

I designed these little crystal-looking things to be small decorations, or if you're feeling like a DIY project, LED-lit lamps. Photos above were printed on my MP Maker select v2.1 (a.k.a. Wanhao Duplicator i3 v2.1) using Maker Geeks Maker Series red PLA and Maker Geeks Dragons Metallic Gold PLA.

Each model is made to print in vase mode: I recommend printing it in this way for speed and because the single perimeter of the model will allow light to shine through even if the filament you use is not labeled as translucent.

If you print these, be sure to hit the "I made one" button! I'd love to see your prints!

I am yet to make my prints into LED lamps, but I plan to, so expect an update on my process for that soon!

Print instructions

Rafts: No

Supports: No

Resolution: I used .1mm, but it shouldn't matter

Infill: N/A

Notes:

IMPORTANT: These models are tiny by default, so I recommend scaling them up in your slicer to 400-600%.

Use vase mode

It's a good idea to make sure your slicer's ending G code section includes retracting the filament a good bit to ensure a nice point at the top

Please note that each file, while similar looking, is different from one another, not iterations of design
