I created this spool holder upgrade to accommodate all my spools comfortably and provide extremely low resistance for the extruder. To build this, you'll need 4"-4.5" of 5/16" threaded rod, three nuts, one washer (recommended), and two standard 608ZZ shielded 8x22x7 miniature ball bearings, which are also used in fidget spinners. Other Maker Select / i3 style printer mods I've made include: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1923257, http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1921236, and http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1943469. Print Settings: Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: .25 Infill: 30% Notes: Any material should work fine; I used PETG for my example. Post-Printing: Assemble the upgrade by pushing the nuts into the provided holes and placing the bearings on a flat surface. Then, rock the part that holds the spool to press them in (they should fit snugly). Finally, screw it together as shown in the picture!
