Low Fastener Mendel
thingiverse
Construct your Mendel frame using 9mm extruded aluminum tubing inserts. Despite not being fully developed and slightly smaller than a standard Mendel, these vertex modules should provide sufficient strength; additional support can be achieved through superglue, self-tappers or epoxy when alignment is certain. The top bars facilitate carriage movement while the lower two bars accommodate Y axis components. The sockets are parametric, accommodating various fixing methods including screws, bolts, glue or even tape and a mallet. Efforts continue to develop a string Z-axis for a RepRap without threaded or steel rods.
