Note: Although this design has undergone significant refinement and should not require extensive adjustment, I would greatly appreciate any feedback or modifications that might be necessary to ensure its smooth operation.\r\n\r\n This is an add-on for bassoon designed to be inserted into the bell in order to play low A below the instrument's lowest note; B flat 1. The low A occurs frequently enough in music that most bassoonists can play it through precise blowing techniques or various types of low A "extensions" inserted into the bell.\r\n\r\n Professional low A extensions exist but are often prohibitively expensive. This model is a budget-friendly, durable alternative that I have refined over several months of playing to ensure proper tuning. This is the third iteration of the design, and it represents nearly two years of refinement of the previous two designs.\r\n\r\n With most non-professional extensions, the bassoon's low B often becomes unstable, making it difficult to play. However, with this design, the low B still plays mostly (but slightly sharp). The tone of the rest of the instrument is affected but not drastically above G2, and I can still play up to G5 regardless of the extension.
