Lovers on a Fence Silhouette Statue
thingiverse
My grandmother gave this wood cutout silhouette statue to my parents when they got married. To celebrate my mother's birthday, I recreated it in Blender just in time for Valentine's Day. However, my PTSD and insomnia often make me miss deadlines. I wish I knew who designed the original or came up with its unique concept. Perhaps it was a carpentry equivalent of a downloadable model from a book of ideas. Even if I intended to charge for my work, this piece can't be monetized since its origins are unknown. The design includes a simple stand to hold the two pieces together. You can print them separately in different colors or as one unit using Silhouette Both Pieces.stl. For optimal results, I recommend printing the silhouette with 10-15% infill and the base with 20-30% infill to ensure stability. If you're unsure about thicker nozzles, try experimenting to see if they affect the detail. When scaling the model down, reduce the base by 1% to prevent it from being too tight. Conversely, when scaling up, keep the silhouette and base thickness at 100%. This will maintain the slot size in the base. To accommodate larger prints, scale the pieces to 150x150x100 mm while keeping the base at 150x100x100 mm. If you prefer a taller design, increase the height but ensure the Y-axis remains around 99% of its original value for snug fit.
