Instructions Update: I'm currently working on a LoverHearth v2, utilizing Neopixels and an Adafruit Gemma. The LoverHeart is a simple wearable designed for times when you want to get noticed with your boyfriend or girlfriend in crowded places at warm summer nights. It can be worn as a necklace bracelet or stitched onto a t-shirt or cap. They don't light up until another one is close by. To conserve battery life, there's a switch on the side that turns it off when the top is closed and the bottom is open. Future plans include using NeoPixel and Gemma from AdaFruit for more advanced lighting effects and quality use. Circuit: a. Infrared Heart Beat Transmitter Circuit: The heartbeat transmitter uses a simple 555 timer circuit. I had two options to choose from - one involves using an IR receiver commonly found in remote controllers that operates at 38kHz, while the other option uses an IR diode or transistor and requires a 1 Hz frequency. To calculate the 555 circuit values, I used the following tools: http://houseofjeff.com/555-timer-calculator/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/555_timer_IC Adafruit Circuit Playground iOS application b. Heart Beat Light Circuit: When the "LoverHeart" detects the IR light from another "LoverHeart," it converts the invisible light into visible LED light.
