Jean-Antoine Houdon earns his reputation as the 'Sculptor of the Enlightenment' with intricately carved sculptures across a variety of subjects. This terracotta sculpture of Louise Brongniart (1772-1845) was crafted by Houdon in 1777 and is carefully preserved at the Louvre, Paris. Houdon's busts of Louise and her brother Alexandre, children of architect Alexandre-Théodore Brongniart, become extremely popular in the 19th and 20th Centuries, leading to abundant reproductions since then. This object is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory. Through this project, we are creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from around the globe for public access at no cost.
