Louise Belcher is a precocious and mischievous 9-year-old girl who lives with her family in a small beach town. She loves to play pranks on her brother Gene, whom she considers to be annoyingly naive and gullible. Her other siblings, Tina and Gene, are both slightly older than her and often find themselves caught up in Louise's antics, which frequently involve causing chaos and mayhem around the house or neighborhood. Louise is a skilled artist and musician, and spends much of her free time drawing comics, playing her keyboard, or creating music videos for school projects. Despite her love of art and creativity, she also enjoys getting into trouble and often finds herself at odds with her parents, Linda and Jimmy Pesto, who try to keep her in line. One of Louise's favorite pastimes is coming up with elaborate schemes and pranks to play on her family and friends. These can range from simple tricks like switching the salt and sugar containers in the kitchen to more complex plans involving fake mustaches, whoopee cushions, and other props. Despite the occasional messy outcome, Louise always seems to manage to talk her way out of trouble with a convincing lie or an innocent-looking smile. Louise's relationships with her family members are complex and often fraught. She loves her brother Gene deeply, but also frequently bullies him and takes advantage of his naivety. Her sister Tina is often the target of Louise's pranks, which can be particularly hurtful given Tina's sensitive nature. However, despite these conflicts, Louise cares deeply for both of her siblings and would do anything to protect them. In addition to her relationships with her family members, Louise also has a close bond with her father Jimmy Pesto Jr., who is the owner of a local pizzeria called Jimmy Pesto's Pizzeria. The two share a love of pizza and often spend hours making pies together in the kitchen.
