Louis Kahn - Norman Fisher House
thingiverse
This is my design for Louis Kahn's Norman Fisher House. I printed this model in eSun Cold White, PLA filament at 0.15mm. No support was used, however you may want to add them to reduce sagging above window / doorways. This model is at 1.100. If you would like to see the completed model in detail, please visit my website at www.supermodelshop.com.au. For you architecture nerds, here is my brief description of Kahn's project: Constructed: 1960 - 1967 Architect: Louis I. Kahn Location: Hatboro, Pennsylvania, US “I always start with square’s” – Louis Kahn The Fisher House consists of two cubic volumes, providing separation public and private spaces, joined at 45 degrees. Adapting to the inclination of the site, Kahn gave the house a stone plinth, reminiscent of an archaeological site, which facilitated a basement and lower level garden. Above sits the double height home, vertically clad in cedar wood with horizontal lines of timber demarcating the second floor. A large semi-circular stone hearth runs from basement to roof, creating a slight separation between living and dining spaces at the ground floor. Any issues or questions please let me know!
