Losi 8ight Shock Cap Homebrew (LOS243001)
thingiverse
I couldn't wait for delivery of the replacement parts, so I designed this Losi 8ight Shock Cap replacement myself. The original part number is LOS243001, but my version was crafted mostly by eye and a little help from a ruler. It's thicker and more sturdy than the original, yet still maintains the same height from shock body to pin. This custom-made cap fits my Losi 8ight T v3 Petrol perfectly, and I've confirmed that it will work with the Electric version as well - in fact, it looks like the v4 model is also compatible. After taking it for a spin over a grass field with a BMX track, a few laps and jumps later, it's still securely attached and intact, with no signs of oil leakage. Here are my print settings: Printer: Wanhau Duplicator 4 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Layer Height Infill: 100% Notes: I found it more effective to print the cap upside-down and use supports on either side of the eyelet, ensuring that the 'cup' remains clear and free from rogue bits of support material that may get into the shock. Printed in PETG with 0.2mm layer height, 100% infill, 255deg, 90deg, and custom supports using Simplify3D software.
