The Canal Cave System is situated near the entrance to the ancient Pedrera Rock Shelter, which is accessible via a winding path that hugs the rugged Anaga coastline. This yellowish toba rock is pockmarked with carefully crafted canals and cazoletas, which are small, circular openings used for various purposes. The system consists of 13 interconnected cazoletas linked by a network of serpentine channels in some cases. Cazoleta sizes vary greatly, ranging from the largest, measuring 15 to 9 cm in diameter and 5 cm deep, to the smallest, with diameters of 7, 6, and 5 cm and depths of only 2 cm.
