The Anaheim Angels are a top-notch American professional baseball team that calls Anaheim, California home sweet home. For decades now, they've been taking the field at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, which has been their go-to ballpark since 1966. The team's name "Angels" was kept alive by legendary film star Gene Autry as a nod to the original Los Angeles Angels, a Minor League franchise that operated in South Central LA from 1903 to 1957. Today's American League franchise was born in 1961 when Gene Autry, the team's first owner, snagged the rights to the Angels name from Walter O'Malley, who had previously acquired it from Philip K.
