Lord of the Royal Guard

Contemplating the severed head of his rival, the Lord of the Royal Guard couldn't help but smile. Thus had ended all the threats, the court intrigues, the maneuvers attempting to climb a secret hierarchy in which nothing seemed to move... Now, although too late for his rival, he might have understood if he were still alive. The look of surprise on his face when he attempted his little revolt was truly ironic; so much so that when they led him away in shackles to his execution, that expression had barely changed an iota. But this was not the time to bask in his triumph, as he had to fend off the schemes and machinations of all those who had supported his rival. Those of lower rank would pay for their audacity by facing him directly, but with those of higher status, he would have to be content with watching them closely, intervening only when necessary. Indeed, it had been an intriguing confrontation, despite his rival being forced into action by the suffocating pressure he had meticulously applied. It was a contest entertaining enough to hold his interest for several months, a game of power and wit that, in the end, showcased the inevitable downfall of anyone daring to challenge him. The battlefield of court politics was as perilous as any, and the Lord of the Royal Guard stood as its undisputed master, his victory marked by the grisly trophy in his hand. This miniature can be use as hero in a regiment of the Fallen Lineage army for tabletop games like Saga: Age of Magic, Kings of War, Forgotten World, The Ninth Age and other Warhammer Fantasy Battles alternative games. Usable individually for skirmish games like Rangers of the Shadow Deep, Circle of Blood, Frostgrave and other Mordheim City Of The Damned alternatives.
