Dwalin, son of Fundin, was a Dwarf warrior of great renown among his people. With arms of all kinds, he was proficient, but when laying blows swiftly against many adversaries at close quarters, nothing pleased him more than the two single-handed axes worn crossed upon his back. Named Ukhlat and Umraz, these short-hafted axes were simple in shape, wide in blade, and heavy in head. Carved on their broad faces were the Khuzdul names of the axes.
