Surgical tube is a very versatile material which I consider a must-have in most shops. However, putting a knot in the end wastes precious material (surgical tubing is not exactly the cheapest stuff in the world). This barb-style loop can be quickly and easily printed and can be combined with any length of 3/8" OD surgical tube and a small zip tie to create a kind of "micro bungee". The loop is about 11/32" (just under 9mm), so it fits with most small-diameter ropes and carabiners/hooks. If you need it bigger, just scale it up (surgical tube is stretchy, after all). The design would also lend itself particularly well to laser cutting, since it is essentially a 2D part.
