Loop Antenna
thingiverse
The antenna designed for receiving medium and short waves is optimized by a varicap diode, specifically the BB510. A viable alternative is the BB112 or 1SV149 varicap diode with high capacitance. The entire frequency range is divided into three sections: 500-1800 kHz, 1800 kHz-7 MHz, and 6.8 MHz-28 MHz. The coils are wound using 45 strands of 0.04 Cu/S Litz wire, which results in a high Q factor, good selectivity, and directivity. This allows for precise directionality, enabling the antenna to be pointed towards weaker signals for improved reception while eliminating stronger, more annoying signals. The larger ring is constructed from a 10mm wide cable channel, with 18 turns wound around it, featuring a tap at turn number five. In contrast, the smaller ring consists of two turns plus one turn as a link to the receiver.
